As a Sales Consultant with CastleRock Communities, she specializes in new home construction, guiding buyers through every stage of the process—from touring homes and reviewing purchase agreements to coordinating walkthroughs, financing discussions, and builder communications. Known for her energetic and personable approach, Barbara is passionate about creating a smooth, supportive experience that empowers buyers to make confident decisions about one of the most important investments of their lives. Barbara’s path into real estate began after years as a stay-at-home mother raising five children. What started as a part-time assistant role in a new-build sales office quickly evolved into a fulfilling career after she discovered her love for working with people and helping families find homes that truly fit their needs. After completing real estate school, she joined CastleRock Communities full-time and built a reputation for combining market knowledge with relatable, compassionate customer service. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I think just being a people person helps a lot in this field. Being able to talk to people and relate to them is really important. I was a single mom, so I deal with a lot of single parents, and just being able to relate and be personable makes a big difference. I love working with people, and I especially love helping first-time homebuyers get into their first home, leading them to the right path and finding which home works for them and their family. That ability to connect with clients on a personal level and understand where they're coming from is what has made me successful.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Work hard, stay confident, and don’t take everything so seriously—your career will grow faster when you learn not to carry every setback personally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay confident in your voice, trust your ability to learn quickly, and don’t take every challenge too personally—your consistency will speak louder than anything else.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now the market is challenging because buyers are more cautious and taking longer to make big purchasing decisions due to economic uncertainty and higher costs. At the same time, it’s an opportunity to truly educate clients, build trust, and help them feel confident in making the right long-term investment.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I'm a health nut, so I'm big time into Pilates and working out and meal prepping. In my work, I love helping people, especially first-time homebuyers, get into their first home and leading them to the right path to find which home works for them and their family. Being able to relate to people and be personable is really important to me. As a former single mom of five children, I understand the challenges families face, and I value being able to connect with my clients on that personal level.
