Her Story

About Barbi

Barbi Shepley is a mentor and counselor with a passion for helping women rediscover their identity, confidence, and direction during challenging seasons of life. She's the founder of Paradise Awaits For You, where she supports women navigating divorce, significant life changes, and other personal hardships. Her commitment to helping others was shaped in part by her experience as a foster mother, having welcomed more than 60 children into her home and helping them navigate difficult circumstances.

Before transitioning into counseling and coaching, Barbi built an extensive career as an executive assistant, supporting senior leaders across industries including aerospace, energy, engineering, and operations. Most recently, she served as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Raytheon Technologies, providing high-level support to vice presidents and global teams through calendar management, travel coordination, meeting planning, expense administration, event coordination, and executive communications. Her career has strengthened her organizational, leadership, project coordination, and problem-solving abilities, complemented by her background in business and project management and certifications in life coaching and Neville coaching.

Today, Barbi brings her professional experience, life experiences, and commitment to service together through mentoring and counseling. She is particularly passionate about helping women move beyond painful chapters, reconnect with who they are, and recognize the possibilities ahead. Looking toward the future, she hopes to expand her work beyond individual and group counseling by creating retreats and travel experiences that provide women with new perspectives, encouragement, and opportunities for personal growth.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to never settle for what you have experienced in the past. Learn from it, carry the lessons forward, and let go of what no longer serves you. Believe in your potential, want more for yourself, and use what you’ve learned to keep moving toward a better future.
