Her Story

About Beatrice

I have been working as a legal advocate for women and children for over 30 years, specializing in women and children's law. My main focus is advancing gender equality as a gender advocate. Throughout my career, my most notable professional achievement has been changing laws around the world in favor of women. I studied law throughout my entire education, from my bachelor's degree in law all the way through to my PhD in Law, which I received in 2008. I am a member of NetRight, a coalition of like-minded gender advocates based in Ghana, where we work together for gender equality. The greatest challenge I face in my field right now is the backlash and rollback on gender equality, where sometimes I feel that the investments I've made are being eroded from time to time. That's where determination kicks in. When I'm not working as a gender advocate, I'm a chef and I love to cook African food.
