Her Story

About Beatriz

Beatriz Alarcon is a seasoned business development and marketing professional with more than two decades of experience in the corporate aviation industry. She began her career in 2002 as a Customer Service Representative at an FBO in Miami, where she developed a strong foundation in client service and operations. Over the years, she has become known for her expertise in fixed-base operations (FBO), customer relations, and strategic growth, consistently delivering exceptional service while building lasting partnerships across the private aviation sector.

Beatriz spent nearly 20 years with Jetscape Services, where she progressed through a series of leadership roles including customer service manager, marketing manager, finance manager, and ultimately business development manager. In these roles, she led strategic sales and marketing initiatives, secured key domestic and international partnerships, and contributed to significant revenue growth and brand visibility. Following the company’s sale and the elimination of her position, Beatriz transitioned into consulting, supporting an aviation entertainment company before launching her own consulting business. Today, she provides strategic marketing, sales planning, and business development services to small corporate aviation companies, leveraging her deep industry knowledge to help clients grow and compete effectively.

Beyond her professional work, Beatriz is deeply committed to education, mentorship, and industry advocacy. She has partnered with a former colleague to deliver training on Canva and AI tools tailored for aviation professionals and is currently developing an academy designed to broaden understanding of the corporate aviation industry beyond traditional roles. As Chair of Girls in Aviation Day for the soFLY Southern Tropics Chapter of Women in Aviation International, she has led the organization of large-scale annual events for the past four years, introducing approximately 1,000 young girls each year to career opportunities in aviation. Passionate about mentoring, Beatriz is dedicated to sharing her knowledge, empowering the next generation, and fostering growth within the industry she has proudly served for over 20 years.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Beatriz

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to having strong leadership early on—someone who trusted me, didn’t micromanage, and gave me the space to think, act, and execute independently. That level of trust allowed me to grow, take ownership, and develop confidence in my decision-making. At the same time, I was consistently challenged, which pushed me beyond my comfort zone and taught me not to shy away from opportunities that require resilience and adaptability.

I’m also naturally relationship-driven. I enjoy connecting with people, building networks, and creating meaningful conversations. For me, success comes from being proactive—embracing the work in front of me, continuously expanding my network, and confidently promoting both my work and my value.

I believe a big part of my success is being resourceful and leveraging the relationships I’ve built over time. I focus on connecting people, creating opportunities, and adding value wherever I can. Ultimately, it’s not about a title—it’s about impact. It’s about how you make people feel, how you support their growth, and how you show up with authenticity and without judgment.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never take things personally. In any professional environment, challenges, feedback, and decisions are part of the process, they’re not a reflection of your worth, but opportunities to learn and improve.

On a personal level, I was also taught to remain grateful in every situation. Whether the experience is positive or difficult, there is always something to gain. The good moments are rewarding, and the challenging ones are often where the most growth happens.

That mindset, staying grounded, grateful, and open to learning has shaped both my career and the way I navigate life.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: don’t be afraid, just go for it. Step into opportunities even if you’re not completely sure, because that’s how you learn and grow. If something doesn’t feel right, you can always pivot, but you’ll never regret trying.

Most importantly, don’t give up. Stay consistent, keep showing up, and trust that every experience is shaping your path. Confidence isn’t something you wait for, it’s something you build by taking action.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in aviation is that it has traditionally been a male-dominated industry. While that can feel intimidating at times, it also creates an opportunity for women to step in, build confidence, and redefine what leadership looks like.

At the same time, I’ve been fortunate to have strong mentors, many of them men who have supported my growth, challenged me, and opened doors along the way. That perspective has shown me that success in this industry is really about surrounding yourself with the right people, regardless of gender.

I’ve found that the key is not to focus on the barriers, but on how you show up, anticipate any situation, being prepared, building strong relationships, and consistently proving your value.

In terms of opportunity, mentorship is one of the most powerful tools we have. Having someone to guide you, share their experience, and challenge you can accelerate your growth in ways you can’t do alone. And just as important is paying that forward, creating spaces where others feel supported, confident, and empowered to succeed.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are respect and integrity. I believe in treating people with kindness, being ethical in every situation, and leading with a strong sense of responsibility.

I’m also very intentional about staying positive and professional.

Being respectful, non-judgmental, and grounded in strong values has shaped how I build relationships and navigate challenges. I believe those qualities not only define who you are, but also how you create trust and impact in both your work and your life.
