Her Interview

Ten minutes with Beatriz

01What do you attribute your success to?

Hard work and being organized with priorities. I try to incorporate my faith in what I do and have a purpose for what I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Having mentors is very important. A mentor suggested I transition from practicing marketing into an academic role in education, which has been a great and fulfilling experience helping students find purpose.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

A lot of self-advocacy. We have a lot to give and a different perspective. Make sure you advocate for what you do so everybody knows what you do.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Getting students' attention in this day and age is difficult. They love when we are more practical and share our experience rather than theoretical. I try to make it very experiential with simulations and consulting projects with actual businesses.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Prudence - knowing what's right and wrong and applying that to every decision. Practicing faith to give center to the day, whether Christian or whatever faith, through prayer, meditation or reflection for energy and clarity.
