Beatriz Gomez
Beatriz Gomez is a dynamic Operations Manager at BCD Meetings & Events, where she leads a team of 10 meeting managers across North America, orchestrating nearly 1,000 events annually for Align Technology. Known for her passion for face-to-face communication in an increasingly virtual world, Beatriz thrives on creating experiences that inspire, connect people, and deliver joy to attendees, clients, and her team. Her leadership style blends strategic planning with empathy, fostering an environment where individuals are empowered to grow and succeed.
Prior to joining BCD, Beatriz spent almost 12 years at Apple, where she played a key role in opening the Raleigh campus. As one of the first hires, she helped shape the culture and community of the workplace, coaching teams, building programs, and driving employee engagement. Her early career included planning large-scale meetings and conferences for nonprofit organizations such as the Center for Resource Solutions, the American Cancer Society, and United Way, giving her a strong foundation in event management and team coordination.
Beatriz earned her BA in Psychology and Sociology from Holy Names University and has pursued continued professional development through project management certifications and industry-specific training. She is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential. Recognized as one of North Carolina’s Influential Women for 2026, Beatriz exemplifies a commitment to leadership, community-building, and infusing joy into her professional endeavors.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for people and learning from those around me. I started in nonprofits, then joined Apple, relocating from California to help launch the Raleigh campus. After four years, I moved to BCD as an Operations Manager, where I plan events and bring people together.
I thrive on organizing complex projects, building strong teams, and creating meaningful connections. My drive comes from turning challenges into opportunities and leading with purpose.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that feedback is a gift. Embracing constructive feedback has allowed me to grow, learn from others, and continuously improve both personally and professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to stand in your power, take pride in your work, and prioritize your personal joy and well-being. Embrace feedback as a tool for growth—remember, feedback is a gift.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are curiosity, creativity, and connection. I love reading to expand my knowledge, crafting to express creativity, and spending time with my dogs, who remind me of the joy in everyday moments.
