Her Interview

Ten minutes with Becky

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think it's definitely people opening doors for me. I've had some amazing mentors in my life... being surrounded by such incredible people, and I have a few people in my mind that have been incredible mentors to me that put me in situations where I wouldn't have thought I was good enough yet, but they saw something in me, and they believed in me, and they pushed me to that next thing.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Make sure you are always kind to everyone... I'm so about community and building relationships, and making sure that you can leave any relationship or any opportunity you have, leave people better than they were before they knew you or had an experience with you.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think my biggest thing is I am all about networking and connecting with people, building relationships, saying yes to people, that has done everything for me in my career... get out there, find projects you can work on, find anything that you can say yes to little opportunities, because I just believe so strongly that even if that's not the right thing for you then, or in a few years, it's all somehow gonna tie back to the one thing that you did, and you learned that skill and met that person.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think right now, it's a really hard time in the film industry, in general, with combating AI and figuring out exactly where AI fits... there's not a lot of jobs in film right now... the flip side of it, and the bright side of it, is you can really come up with a lot right now, like, in virtual production, there's new jobs that are coming up in the industry that you could become the expert right now... AI can help you get there as well.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Really know what your core beliefs are, and what defines success for you... For me, it is having a strong marriage, making sure I prioritize my family, life, my husband, before all else, my relationships. My faith is very important to me... staying in line with my faith and my values. And, yeah, again, kindness, trying to leave everywhere you go and every person you interact with better.
