About Becky
I've been in the field of being an author and publishing since 1999, about 27 years now. I wrote my first book in 1999, and over the years I've worked in different genres, starting with inspirational, then moving to children's books, and then novels. I also publish books for other individuals because of the knowledge I've obtained over the couple of decades. What I find most rewarding is assisting other authors in the self-publishing process. Publishing now is vastly different from when I started out 27 years ago, so what I do is teach them what I know so that they themselves can go ahead and complete their journey without my assistance or any assistance. In the fall and spring semesters of 2024 and 2025, I taught a course on how to write a book at a local university for their OLLI program for people who were over 50. I taught it two semesters, and they've asked me to come back. The people were so excited, they had written sentences, a paragraph, a title, and it was just a push, even at that age, to push them to say, okay, you can do that. It's not about your age, it's about your idea, about your thought that you want to give to someone. I tell people, don't worry if it's only one person who reads your book. If you're in this for the financial gain, that's all well and good too, but you need to think about the difference and the impact and the influence that you would have on the one person that reads your book.
