Becky Smith

Becky Smith serves as Director of Health and Wellness at the Winton College of Medicine at South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. In this role, she provides individual and couples counseling to MD and PhD students, offers mental health support, connects students to psychiatric services, and oversees a comprehensive wellness program that includes Lunch and Learns, a resiliency-focused M3 curriculum, the Wellness Council, and events such as Art of Medicine and honest conversations panels. She holds a PhD in counselor education and supervision, a master's in clinical mental health counseling, and a bachelor's in Psychology, all from South Alabama, and is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Alabama. Her PhD training supports her work in developing programmatic wellness initiatives and a holistic student support model, on which she is currently collaborating with colleagues to publish research.
