What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a combination of strong memory, multitasking ability, and cultural adaptability, skills that enable me to thrive in complex accounting environments. Being communicative allows me to interact with diverse clients and teams, while my natural curiosity about human behavior and different cultures strengthens my ability to build trust and meaningful relationships. I also credit my resilience and willingness to take risks, moving to the U.S. on an au pair exchange program and caring for children while investing in myself by pursuing my education, and transitioning into a demanding public accounting career, for shaping my professional journey. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and personal growth, I am committed to advancing my skills and achieving long-term success.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the financial and public accounting industry to keep learning, even when things feel overwhelming, and to seek international perspectives, since accounting operates on a global scale. I encourage them to ask questions, even if they feel shy or intimidated, and to stay persistent, as opportunities often arise only after consistent effort. Most importantly, I urge women to trust their abilities, even when others may underestimate them. I want young women to feel confident pursuing their CPA goals, leadership roles, and global opportunities, because the industry benefits greatly from diverse voices and perspectives.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the biggest challenges in accounting today include women facing client trust issues and unequal introductions in firm settings, adjusting to fast-paced environments with constantly shifting rules and regulations, and navigating international tax and accounting matters. At the same time, there are significant opportunities. There is growing demand for professionals with multilingual and multicultural expertise, and international accounting experience offers those who wish to work globally a unique advantage. Alternative pathways to CPA licensure and managerial leadership are emerging, and more organizations are prioritizing diversity, women’s empowerment, and nonprofit involvement. Additionally, there are meaningful opportunities to support women and children through nonprofit financial strategy and advisory work.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life include respect for all cultures and people, a commitment to continuous learning, professional integrity, patience and open-mindedness, service to women and children, and dedication to personal and professional growth. I believe that understanding different cultures provides deeper insight into the world, and that compassion, curiosity, and fairness are essential for building stronger workplaces and thriving communities.
