About Belle
Bella McGill is an educator and adjunct faculty instructor with a focus on composition, popular fiction and publishing, and young adult writing. She began her career in education in 2020, initially teaching high school French, and transitioned to college-level instruction in 2022. Her teaching experience includes positions at Ivy Tech Community College, Grand Canyon University (online asynchronous courses), Purdue University as a limited term lecturer, and the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate teaching assistant from 2023 until May 2025 while pursuing her doctorate. She is currently based in Delphi, Indiana, completing her dissertation and applying for professor positions. McGill earned a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in literature and double minors in French and creative writing from Ball State University in 2020. She received her MFA in Popular Fiction and Publishing from Emerson College in 2022 and is enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of Southern Mississippi, anticipating graduation in May 2027. She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta and has received honors including the Garth A. Vant Memorial Endowment, the Emerging Artist Award at the University of Southern Mississippi, and the Joan Johnson Writing Award in Fiction. McGill has also led creative writing workshops through her hometown and the Young Writers Initiative.
