Benedicta Gokah

I'm a user experience researcher working at the intersection of design, technology, and business. I've been in this field for about 9 years now, starting in 2016, though I took a 2-year gap for grad school. What I do is help businesses make decisions when it comes to features for their technology products and put out new products and services. I've worked across about 6 different industries, including insurance, and I currently work in the finance space building digital tools and services that people can actually use in their everyday lives to make financial decisions. In 2024, I completed a dual master's degree, earning both an MBA and a master's in design strategy. When I think about my greatest accomplishment, it's not about the millions of dollars I've saved the company or the millions the company has generated. Last year in November, somebody came back to my office and gave me a keychain that said 'I hope that the work you do touches other people the way you've touched me.' That was such a small gift, but it meant the world because the kind of work I do influences people positively, and that was real-time feedback that somebody gave me. Usually people don't come back, but that moment really stood out to me.
