What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God first, for guiding me through every season of my life. My faith is the biggest thing. I also credit my journey of healing, doing the inner work, and staying consistent, and trusting the process, even when it wasn't easy. And my family - my husband, my children - for supporting me, showing up for me, and growing with me.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I received was just to be consistent, be patient with myself, and to not compare my journey to everyone else's. Because we're all different. I had to learn that the hard way because for years, I was like, oh, it just seems like this is not working out, but I see other people doing something similar, and it's working out for them. But I just have to be patient. My path is not like everybody else's. Stay consistent and don't compare.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Start where you are. You don't have to have it all figured out. Be patient with yourself. Stay consistent. Don't compare your journey to everyone else's. And most importantly, do inner work. Because when you're working with people that have experienced things, or if you're in the field of wellness, things are gonna pop up. And you're gonna realize, as you're talking to people, there may be some things that you need to heal and navigate through while you're on the journey of helping others.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge for me has been building something meaningful while balancing being a wife, a mother, and having a full-time job. There were also moments of self-doubt, wondering if I was doing enough. But I've learned to trust God and honor the pace of my journey. I've learned that impact isn't always in numbers - it's in the lives you touch, even if it's just one. As for opportunities, I think the biggest one is just more outreach within other organizations. Here in Austin, there's a lot of nonprofits, all unique in their own way. I think the visibility of what we do and spreading it out even to the rural areas is important, because a lot of the rural areas don't have folks out there that can advocate for others. The city has a lot of nonprofits, but who's helping those in rural areas that don't know Austin has these resources? So the biggest opportunity is the visibility and growth, building a strong foundation and meaningful impact, continuing to grow and learn how to balance being hands-on while also building support systems and partnerships, and strengthening our digital presence, because I'm not big on social media like I should be - but it's also because I'm hands-on and out there in the community trying to make an impact.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The biggest piece is community - having a community that can support you. Healing is always going to be first. I believe that healing is a foundation to everything. My work is rooted in faith and guided by God's love, grace, and truth. Wholeness over perfection - we don't strive for perfection, we just support the journey. Safe and sacred spaces where we're committed to creating environments where you're feeling seen and heard and supported. And sisterhood - healing is never meant to be done alone. I believe in the power of connection and support and women uplifting women.
