Her Story

About Bernadette

Bernadette Ferrell is an AI Lifestyle Coach and consultant who has been working in consulting and coaching since 2017 and opened her own business approximately three years ago. She helps women 45+ who feel drained, overwhelmed, and mentally overloaded reclaim their energy, clarity, and sense of ease. Based in the Greater Phoenix area, she combines practical coaching with AI tools to help clients reduce mental clutter, identify hidden energy drains, and simplify daily life so it feels more manageable and aligned.

Her professional journey is unconventional and spans multiple industries. Bernadette holds a journalism degree from Central Michigan University and began her career as a newspaper reporter before moving to Arizona, where she worked in trade publishing for about six years prior to experiencing burnout. She then spent 11 years dealing poker at Casino Arizona, followed by a year and seven months dealing table games in Cherokee, North Carolina. After returning to Phoenix, she launched a mobile massage business, which she still maintains today with one or two clients per week, continuing her long-standing work in hands-on care and service.

Bernadette discovered coaching by accident after meeting a coach at a time when she did not even realize coaching was a profession. She spent years collecting certifications before fully stepping into the work, eventually completing a program with Transformational Academy, where coaching strangers revealed her natural ability and gave her the confidence to launch her business. Today, she also provides AI consulting, teaching clients how to use AI in a way that reflects their authentic voice and supports marketing campaigns; she was in the top 1% of ChatGPT users last year. She sees clients via Zoom from noon to 4pm, intentionally limiting her schedule to no more than two clients per day to maintain quality and presence, and grows her business through workshops and consistent list nurturing.

Ten minutes with Bernadette

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being highly trainable and open to trying new things, even when I’m unsure of the outcome. I’ve learned to persist through hardship and uncertainty rather than retreat from it, and that resilience has shaped much of my growth. Formal training, including my experience with Transformational Academy, has also played an important role in giving me structure, skill development, and confidence in my work. Most importantly, I’ve discovered and strengthened my abilities through real-world experience particularly when I first realized I had a natural talent for coaching while working with strangers which taught me to trust what I see in practice rather than waiting to feel “fully ready.”

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is to give yourself permission to find value in simply being, not just constantly doing. In a world that often rewards productivity and output, it’s easy to lose touch with yourself by overextending and trying to prove your worth through effort alone. Prioritize reconnecting with yourself regularly so you can recognize your limits, needs, and natural rhythms before burnout sets in. Instead of forcing performance, learn to notice where ease and flow already exist and build from there. The most sustainable success comes from alignment, not strain, and from working with yourself rather than against yourself.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field today include widespread burnout, especially among women who are carrying heavy mental, emotional, and logistical loads while trying to meet constant expectations, as well as the difficulty many coaches face in confidently promoting themselves, launching offers, and staying visible in a crowded digital space. At the same time, there are meaningful opportunities emerging through the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, which can simplify marketing, clarify messaging, and support content creation in a way that still feels authentic and personal, along with the continued growth of online platforms that expand visibility, making it easier to reach and serve clients globally without the need for large teams or extensive resources.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are reconnection to self, authenticity, ease and flow, resilience, and continuous learning. I place a high priority on staying grounded in who I am and helping others do the same, rather than operating from pressure or external expectations. I value creating space for ease and natural flow instead of forcing outcomes, while also recognizing that resilience is what allows us to move through challenges and grow from them. Just as importantly, I remain committed to being trainable and open to continuous learning, allowing me to evolve, adapt, and stay effective in both life and work.
