About Bernadette

Bernadette Jacobus is a retired insurance account executive with a distinguished career spanning the banking and insurance industries. Beginning her professional journey as a claims processor while balancing the responsibilities of being a newlywed and new mother, she steadily advanced through leadership roles, including account executive, senior underwriter, and insurance producer positions. Throughout her career, Bernadette built expertise in client relations, risk assessment, claims management, underwriting, and developing strong broker and client partnerships. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bernadette is recognized for her dedication to service and advocacy. She volunteered as an EMT and first responder at Ground Zero following the September 11 attacks, an experience that deeply shaped her commitment to helping others. She later pursued additional medical certifications and continues her involvement with organizations supporting 9/11 responders and survivors, including the World Trade Center Health Organization. Her advocacy work reflects her values of compassion, resilience, and community support. Bernadette has also made an impact through the pageant and mentorship community, using her platform to promote causes such as SIDS awareness, organ donation awareness and support for 9/11 victims and survivors. As a first runner-up for Ms. New Jersey International, she continues to inspire others through her message of kindness, gratitude, family, and perseverance. She encourages young women to pursue their goals, work hard, maintain balance in life, and choose joy while making a positive difference in the world.
