Why Your Circle Matters More Than Your Strategy 💫 Grateful for meaningful connections that open doors to collaboration! A special thank you to Mike Triana, CRPS™, for inviting me to a recent community networking event that brought together passionate advocates for community health and wellness. Through this gathering, I had the privilege of connecting with incredible organizations like Care Access, Flourish Research, and The Sunshine Club, true community health champions doing transformative work in our community. These connections have already sparked conversations about potential partnerships around health promotion education, screening initiatives, and ambassador opportunities that align with my health ministry leadership work through Intensity Health Solutions in local churches. This is what community impact looks like when we come together with shared vision and purpose. We can create lasting change in the lives of those we serve. Looking forward to exploring how we can partner together to advance health and wellness in our Central Florida community and beyond! 💙 #PopulationHealth #HealthMinistry #Partnership #Health #Wellness #CommunityImpact #Networking

Sometimes your greatest blessing is in what didn’t work out. ✨ I turned down what seemed like a dream opportunity, the prestigious CDC PHAP fellowship. I was selected from a pool of 3,000 applicants. THREE THOUSAND. This was supposed to launch me into a “traditional” public health career. That decision to decline haunted me for a while. Did I just walk away from a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? Was I throwing away my future in public health? Fast forward to today: I could have been among the estimated 4,300+ CDC employees recently released through voluntary separations, firings, and layoffs. OR I might still be there, but facing restrictions on the government contracts Intensity Health Solutions can pursue, limitations that would’ve directly conflicted with the healthcare consulting work we’re called to do. Here’s what I’ve learned: What I didn’t yet know was already being protected. My “untraditional” public health path, choosing CVS Health over being 1 of 200 assigned associates, wasn’t a departure from public health. It was preparation for a different kind of impact. That “no” to the CDC cleared the path for me. The untraditional path WAS the protection. Every pharmacy conversion, every staff training, every operational optimization was building the expertise I needed to serve healthcare differently. Sometimes God’s protection looks like turning down what 2,999 other people would’ve said YES to. Sometimes the path you don’t take protects the purpose you’re meant to fulfill. And sometimes what looks “untraditional” is exactly the tradition YOU were meant to start. What’s a decision you once questioned that later revealed itself as divine protection? Drop it in the comments. 👇🏾 #HealthcareConsulting #FaithAndBusiness #IntensityHealthSolutions #PublicHealth #UntraditionalPath #Data #Communication #CareerPivot

Let's talk about the "Healthcare Bermuda Triangle," where good intentions, big budgets, and smart people still can't deliver what communities need.

Here's What Usually Happens:
Scenario 1: The Data Disaster
Hospital: "Our data shows 85% patient satisfaction!"
Community: "Then why can't I get an appointment for 6 weeks?"
Plot twist: They're measuring different things.

Scenario 2: The Communication Catastrophe
Public Health Agency: Creates beautiful 50-page report
Community: Needs a flyer that explains why their kid should get vaccinated
Spoiler: The report sits on a website no one visits.

Scenario 3: The Operations Oopsie
Pharmacy: "We implemented a new efficiency system!"
Patients: Still waiting 45 minutes for a prescription transfer
Reality check: Efficiency for staff, ≠ efficiency for patients.

The REAL Problem?
These three don't talk to each other:
📊 Data teams speak in dashboards and metrics
📢 Communications teams speak in campaigns and messaging
⚙️ Operations teams speak in workflows and protocols

Meanwhile, communities are speaking in: "I just need help, and I don't know where to start."

The Intensity Health Solutions Approach
We translate. We bridge. We connect.
Think of us as the universal adapter for your healthcare charger:
✅ Take your complex data → Turn it into messages people understand
✅ Take your operational improvements → Show communities how it helps them
✅ Take community feedback → Turn it into actionable system changes

Real Talk Example:
Old way:
"Our new care coordination platform reduced duplicate testing by 23% and improved care transitions through enhanced EHR interoperability."
IHS way:
"Your doctors can now see your test results from ANY hospital you've visited, no more repeating that uncomfortable procedure or answering the same questions five times."
Same achievement. One nobody understands. One that makes them say, "Finally!"

Here's the Truth ☕
Healthcare doesn't need MORE data, MORE programs, or MORE systems.
It needs MORE professionals who can make all three work TOGETHER for the people they're supposed to serve.
That's where the magic happens. That's where equity lives. That's where communities stop falling through the cracks.

Your Turn.

write a sentence or two answering What do you attribute your success to?
My journey actually started in pharmacy. I earned my associate’s degree in pharmacy education and that foundation carried me into roles where I really learned the backbone of patient care. At CVS Specialty, I supported software integration and continuous improvement initiatives, which gave me a deep understanding of system processes and how to make patient experiences smoother.

From there, I moved into my current role at AdventHealth. I serve as a spiritual ambassador and support our outpatient specialty pharmacy services, helping patients navigate medication authorizations and funding. It’s work that keeps me grounded, purpose-driven, and connected to people who need advocacy the most.
Intensity Health Solutions was born from a desire to serve. Before I launched my own company, I had helped a friend establish a government contracting business, and that experience showed me what was possible. Eventually, I realized I had my own vision—a health-focused firm that could educate, empower, and help people live whole and healthy lives.

Today, I balance my full-time role with leading that company and also serving as the health ministry leader at my church. We partner with nonprofits to bring comprehensive health education—physical, financial, mental, and spiritual—into our community. It’s truly my heart work.

Being named Specialty Liaison of the Year was a huge honor. I’ve also received several excellence awards that recognized my commitment to patients and innovation. But just as meaningful has been my community involvement—working with organizations like 4H and the My Name is Beautiful Foundation. Service keeps me grounded.

I attribute my success to a foundation built in pharmacy education and hands-on patient care, which taught me the importance of advocacy and systems thinking. Coupled with my experience in healthcare operations and my passion for community service, these experiences have guided me in creating meaningful impact through both my professional roles and my consulting firm, Intensity Health Solutions.

My mentors have been instrumental in shaping both my character and my career. Sheliann Paul has been amazing. I’ve been blessed with leaders who poured into me, challenged me, and helped me see myself beyond the limits I placed on my own potential.
In pharmacy, I had supervisors who taught me the value of precision and compassion. In public health, I had mentors who pushed me to think strategically and lead boldly. And in ministry and business, I’ve had spiritual and professional guides who reminded me that service and excellence can coexist. Their guidance is part of why I mentor others now—I believe in sending forward what was given to me.

I enjoy learning, teaching, writing, traveling, and look forward to more years of these activities. It has been an honor to receive recognition as a Teacher of the Year when I taught high school students in New Jersey, and I have received an award for Living the Mission (from Anna Maria College). My historical novel, Wounded Dove, starts at the time of the polio outbreak in Central Massachusetts early in the 20th century. Wounded Dove is based on a true story. Since names and times were changed, it was listed as fiction when it was published in 2008. Grace Interlaced: A Memoir (2023) shows the effects of a sudden disaster on a previously stable and loving family and gives hope of overcoming the negative results. I have a series based on my 8 different years of working with teachers and students in China. Book 1: China Sweet and Sour(March 2025), Book 2: China Spicy and Salty (November 2025). I am at work on Book 3: China Sharp and Zesty. I enjoy presenting about cross-cultural communication, writing, and the power of stories to community groups, schools, local, and national conferences, and have publications in academic journals and on Substack. Jenn Hanson-dePaula has a variety of supportive options for writers. I met Jan Johnson in one of the author gatherings online. She asked a variety of questions about my projects, and then talked with me more and invited me to chat with her on her podcast. It is a challenge for me to talk to a person via a computer, but she was a helpful host and easy to chat with. I've listened to some of her other programs since finding out about her Just Talkin' About Jesus, and she does seem to have the gift of helping people to tell their stories via Zoom from her home office in Oregon. China Sweet and Sour: 2004
Feeling betrayed by God and burned out by disappointment, Virginia signs up for an unlikely adventure: teaching English in China with a faith-based volunteer organization. In a remote industrial city near the Gobi Desert, Virginia faces the clash of cultures, language barriers, and the unrelenting scrutiny of Communist administrators. Her teammates clash, her students depend on her, and her faith wavers under the strain. Yet, in the dust and laughter of rural China, she begins to see her own heart clearly—and to discover that healing often begins where comfort ends. China Sweet and Sour is a vivid, cross-cultural memoir of faith, grit, and transformation. For readers who loved When the Heart Waits (Sue Monk Kidd) or Foreign to Familiar (Sarah Lanier), this true story captures both the sweetness and sharp edges of serving in a foreign land.
This is the first book in a series entitled DID YOU EAT? In China, “Did you eat?” is more than a greeting. It ist a question of care, connection, and survival. In this memoir series, Virginia’s journey from pain to purpose takes her from the ashes of tragedy to the deserts of Inner Mongolia. Each book explores how faith is tested, reshaped, and ultimately strengthened through cross-cultural encounters and God’s quiet grace.Feeling betrayed by God and burned out by disappointment, Virginia signs up for an unlikely adventure: teaching English in China with a faith-based volunteer organization. Grace Interlaced: A Memoir
Grace Interlaced: A Memoir
Grace Interlaced is a true story of a nighttime fire that destroyed a house, broke family relationships, and caused the death of a child. Twelve-year-old Virginia is the babysitter and big sister. She was supposed to ensure the safety of her three charges. But now, watching the fire destroy her house, hearing the crowd's wild speculations, watching the firefighters' efforts, and wondering when her parents will return, she feels the consequences of having rescued only two of the three little children.
The fire causes Virginia to disconnect from emotions, lose trust in crucial relationships, and build a protective wall around her heart. Only God's repeated interventions over decades break through grief, guilt, blame, and fears.
Grace Interlaced emerged over three years of exploring a harrowing event and decades of flaws and challenges for forgiveness and healing.
In 2020, I started working on a memoir based on an event that changed my life and my family’s life. In January of 2023, I completed the memoir Grace Interlaced, In the next few months of kneading, pummeling, revising, and transforming from my story to a story, emotionally I moved into a necessary distance that included new gratitude for the grace of forgiveness and healing.Grace Interlaced is a true story of a nighttime fire that destroyed a house, broke family relationships, and caused the death of a child. Meeting the global need for educational leaders presents challenges for every school system due to economic, style, role, and cultural differences. Recruiting leaders who can work through the challenges stands as a goal for every school regardless of gender, yet females are underrepresented in educational leadership globally. This article is based on three years of research and interviews with female educational leaders in China and the United States and explores the idea that words and phrases used by female leaders communicate gender identity, intersections between ethnicities, economic levels, and cultural priorities. The word that arose most often in the interview responses from 35 female educational leaders, and that was used metaphorically by female educational leaders from remote rural areas of China to the New York City metropolitan area, was journey.Meeting the global need for educational leaders presents challenges for every school system due to economic, style, role, and cultural differences. 21st-century education finds schools challenged to increase the inclusion of students with widely
varying learning abilities, language backgrounds, social diversity, and skills. Educators and
