Beth Clark, CAIP, CIC, CLCS is an Aviation & Business Insurance Producer with Marsh McLennan Agency, based in the Greater St. Louis area. With more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, she has built a career specializing in complex risk solutions across aviation, property, manufacturing, construction, and logistics. Known for her strategic advisory approach and strong client relationships, Beth combines technical insurance expertise with a commitment to delivering tailored solutions for a diverse and evolving client base.
Her insurance career began unexpectedly after graduating college early at age 20 in December 2006 during a challenging economic period. While working in retail at Abercrombie & Fitch, she was encouraged by a university leader who recognized her potential and urged her to pursue a professional path in insurance. She began her career at State Farm, where she spent approximately four years before moving into a larger brokerage. There, she gained foundational experience in claims, which deepened her understanding of how insurance functions in practice. She subsequently advanced through roles as account manager and account executive, ultimately becoming the youngest vice president at the agency before transitioning to Marsh McLennan Agency in 2017.
At Marsh McLennan Agency, Beth initially managed large property accounts before expanding into construction, manufacturing, and logistics portfolios, where roughly half of her book of business was concentrated. She later transitioned into aviation insurance, where she now works 100% on commission, managing high-value and highly specialized risks ranging from multi-million-dollar private aircraft such as Pilatus and Citation models to flight schools and aviation manufacturing products. Her strong relationships with underwriters allow her to respond quickly to urgent client needs, including time-sensitive placements requiring rapid turnaround and coordinated execution. Throughout her career, Beth has remained committed to responsiveness, technical excellence, and building trusted partnerships that support clients in high-stakes, fast-moving environments.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Insurance in general is very male-dominated, but when you go into the aviation aspect and you're dealing with pilots, you definitely need to grow thick skin, but also be very knowledgeable. I even took classes on getting my private pilot's license and went to ground school at a community college while working 40 hours a week, while having 4 children and 3 dogs, and starting a non-profit. You definitely put in the hours, you put in the time, but once you gain their respect, once you can speak their language, once you understand the product, and you listen to what their needs are, then female, male, doesn't matter, you will overcome all of those adversities. I would love to encourage women to get into this industry - it is fun. You get to deal with private jets and helicopters, and I get to go and ride on some of them. It's very exciting. Whether or not insurance is insurance, nobody likes to discuss insurance, but this industry is fun, and I would love to encourage women to get into it, and I'd love to mentor them.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There are more women coming into this field. We need pilots, and there are more female pilots coming into this field. More women are coming out of these flight schools, and I love to see that. Whether they become pro-pilots for charter operations, or they go into the airlines, I'm excited about helping them with their needs as they grow in their industry.
