About Beth
Beth Coffey is the owner and instructor at Dancing Austin, which she founded in 2004. She specializes in teaching Texas Two-Step and line dancing, serving as a cultural ambassador for Texas dance traditions through her work with corporate teams, conventions, and international audiences. Beth holds a master's degree in leadership and ethics and a mediation certificate from St. Edward's University, as well as an AI certification from Google. Her professional achievements include being named a nominee and finalist for the Austin Business Journal Women in Business award in 2026 and being proclaimed ambassador of the Texas Two-Step by the Mayor of Austin. She contributes to her community as a mentor with Creative Futures at Soho House for six years and supports the Dell Children's Arts Association through heart walk events. Beth attributes her success to strong family values from both her Czech heritage on her mother's side and her West Texas roots on her father's side, emphasizing hard work, collaboration, and community.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My family on both sides. My mother's Czech people taught strong family values of working together for big parties, with dance and music part of the culture. My father's West Texas family emphasized hard work, depending on yourself and neighbors, that nobody could do it alone.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stop waiting. Start today. Analysis paralysis will get you. Stop waiting for it to be perfect, just do it.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Authenticity is the key to success. See who you are. Dance the way you dance. And it'll be right.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include keeping up with technology and social media instead of old newspaper ads. Opportunities include huge global reach through media, with over 165,000 Instagram followers, allowing people worldwide to watch and hire for lessons.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Kindness, flexibility (physically, mentally, literally), and being healthy.
