About Beth O'Neill
Beth Maloney began her professional career in 1987 as a lawyer and litigator at a Boston law firm, handling matters ranging from medical devices and pharmaceuticals to aircraft leasing and government enforcement. After taking time to raise her three children, she taught in law school and worked on a congressional investigation in Washington, D.C. She then spent several years in state government before dedicating seven years to nonprofit work at Positive Coaching Alliance, where she advanced positive youth development through sports and created the Stadium Stampede fundraising event. For the past four years, she has served as Executive Director of the Kendall Square Association in Cambridge, Massachusetts, fostering connections among life sciences, technology companies, MIT, and research institutions as a community convener. She also serves on the advisory board of the MIT Museum.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think it's generally to ask questions. Listen to other people. Check your own assumptions. Be self-aware of your strengths and areas where you have room to grow. Build your own cabinet of trusted people like peers, mentors, or juniors with different skills for professional advice.
