About Beth
Beth Smith is an operations and materials management professional with nearly five years at Rivian in the automotive industry, where she was recently promoted to Manager after serving as Group Lead. She oversees a team of over 100 in material supply and production management, ensuring parts are delivered from the warehouse to the production line. With approximately 20 years in warehousing, she is pursuing a degree in supply chain management, expected in December 2028. As the only female manager in material supply at Rivian, Beth emphasizes earning team respect, staying open to changes in production environments, and making gradual improvements based on input from her team. She credits mentors Ron Milkovich and AJ Casaneta for supporting her growth.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stay open to changes. Have an open mind. Things change constantly on a daily especially in production. Your head needs to stay on a swivel.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have an open mind. Earn the respect of your team. Come in and learn everything first then make changes gradually. Get to know your people first.
