Her Story
About Bethany
Bethany serves as the Director of Player Development and Community Engagement for Georgia State University’s Women’s Basketball program, where she plays a vital role in shaping both the personal growth of student-athletes and the team’s presence within the Atlanta community.
Now in her second season, Bethany began her journey with the program as a graduate assistant while earning her Master’s degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State. Upon graduation, she was promoted into her current leadership role, marking her first full-time position after completing her academic career.
In her role, Bethany leads community partnership initiatives, connects the team with local organizations, and develops outreach programs that strengthen relationships throughout Metro Atlanta. She coordinates service projects, facilitates youth engagement experiences, and creates opportunities for student-athletes to serve as role models. Her work includes organizing large-scale events such as Georgia State’s Education Day game, which she helped grow from approximately 1,600 student attendees to more than 2,200, making it one of the most attended women’s basketball games in program history.
Bethany also oversees player development efforts focused on preparing student-athletes for life beyond the court. She emphasizes confidence building, professional readiness, and independence, ensuring players are equipped with the tools they need to succeed after their collegiate careers. One of her signature initiatives, the Empower Women Excel Brunch, brings together female leaders in Metro Atlanta to network with and mentor the team, reinforcing her commitment to uplifting young women through access and exposure.
A former Student Body President at Kennesaw State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition, Bethany developed an early passion for bridging gaps between student-athletes and the broader campus community. That foundation continues to guide her work today.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and remains actively involved in community service efforts, supporting organizations such as the Atlanta Mission and MUST Ministries.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Bethany enjoys fitness and exploring new workout classes, baking during the holidays, and spending time with her dog.
Through leadership, service, and a deep commitment to empowering young women, Bethany continues to make a meaningful impact both within Georgia State Athletics and throughout the Atlanta community.
