Her Story

About Bethany

Bethany Koch has been active in real estate tech SaaS since 2022. She works at Lofty, a real estate tech platform providing CRM tools, where she serves in client success and team leadership capacities. Her responsibilities include handling escalations, analyzing data such as NRR metrics, creating SOPs, playbooks, talk tracks, and trainings, and supporting her manager with data storytelling. Koch began her tech career at Indeed in 2018, piloting the Blue Value Group to help small companies with recruiting. She later moved to Dedicated and then YLOPO, advancing from client success manager to team lead and team manager roles, where she developed processes to optimize team performance. She attributes her professional drive to becoming a single mom at a young age, viewing her children as her primary motivation for success. Koch values hard work, persistence, and maintaining backup plans, and she advises controlling what one can control while approaching challenges with data-backed confidence.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Bethany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think, honestly, becoming a single mom at a young age, I had children young, and it wasn't just about me anymore, it was about them, and I think they are my biggest motivation, is if I'm successful, my children are successful, and I can show them you don't need anything else besides yourself to be successful.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Control what you can control. You can't control what happened yesterday. You can't control what happens tomorrow, but you can control what happens today, and your attitude towards it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Soak it up, everything. Be a sponge, take everything and soak it up. Put your ego aside and soak it all in. Learn everything you can, and take that and run with it. You never stop learning.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is not being heard because we are women sometimes, and we're not heard. The biggest takeaway is you just have to talk louder, and you have to back it up with data and information. You have to be able to walk in the room like you own it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Hard work, don't give up, and always just have a backup plan.
