Her Interview

Ten minutes with Betty

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think my dedication and my willingness to support others and help them in their journey to make their life easier is what drives my success. Whether it's building a system or through workshops to help them become happier during their professional and personal journey, I'm always focused on serving others. For me, I just wanted to be in a field that would allow me to serve others, regardless of my location. And with IT, it's easier - it doesn't matter where you are, you can still support people.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to always be resilient and go for what your intuition gives you. Because experience is what shows you where you're going next. I've learned not to let the outside determine who I'm becoming, and to always follow my inner guide.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is: Do not let the outside determine who you're becoming. Always follow your inner guide. Don't let external influences dictate your path - trust yourself and your intuition.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the biggest challenge right now is the current status of minorities and contracts in the landscape. It has become very competitive and there are less resources available. This is particularly challenging in the IT field where minority representation and access to contracts is already limited.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are leadership, trust, and kindness. I also deeply value work-life balance, which I learned from my mentor Gaston Planas, who always treated us fairly and made sure we had that balance - and that's priceless to me.
