Her Interview
Ten minutes with Betty
01What do you attribute your success to?
Continuity - just keeping after it. Not throwing your hands up and being disappointed because one person says no, just say next. Keep reaching out to the next person who is really interested in making a difference in their life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Pick one thing at a time. Try that if that is not what your heart is set on, move on to the next one. Don't stop. Keep going until you figure out this is where you need to be. But don't neglect anything that you think you really want to do, because the field is wide open for you, you're young. It time is on your side. But don't put too many irons in the fire at one time. One to two things at a time. Eliminate them as you go along. And then add something new and give it everything you've got.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest challenges: Getting people to understand that they actually can create wealth and making them understand that they have to be committed to the process. People get excited but then break appointments or no-show. Opportunities: People can start part-time while keeping their job and work up to self-sufficiency and freedom to make their own decisions.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The freedom to do what I want, when I want, where I want, however long I want.
