Her Story
About Beverly
Beverly "Angie" Clark is an insurance agent with New York Life, where she helps individuals and families navigate life and health insurance, annuities, investment planning, retirement strategies, and long-term care solutions. Licensed through the Utah Department of Insurance, she is currently working toward her securities license as part of a year-long training program, reflecting her ongoing commitment to expanding her expertise. Angie brings more than four decades of professional experience to her practice, having built a career across customer service, retail operations, and workforce management before entering the insurance field.
Prior to her transition into insurance, Angie spent roughly 20 years at FedEx in customer service and operations roles, followed by eight years managing multiple Starbucks locations across Nevada and Utah, and nearly 13 years leading workforce management teams at Clearlink. After being laid off from her technology-industry position in 2025, she chose to view the setback as an opportunity rather than an obstacle, dedicating months to earning her insurance license and mastering a new field. She completed both her bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration through the University of Phoenix while balancing her demanding career.
Now established at New York Life, Angie has embraced a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to her work, favoring face-to-face client meetings and educational seminars over purely digital outreach. She credits much of her resilience to the strong personal and professional support systems she has cultivated throughout her life, along with a steady commitment to continuous learning. Guided by the values of empathy and trust, Angie hopes her journey through multiple career transitions will inspire others to know that it is never too late to reinvent themselves and pursue a more fulfilling path.

Ten minutes with Beverly
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to staying open to change and never being afraid to start over, even later in life. Learning has always been a constant for me, and I make it a point to keep growing personally and professionally no matter what industry I'm in. Just as importantly, I credit the people around me — the strong support system I've built both at home and at work has carried me through every transition in my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've ever received is to always put my best foot forward and give 110% every day. There will be good days and bad days, but I can't let the bad days define who I am or what I do — staying positive matters. I believe this all comes back to relationships: when you have a solid support system, personally and professionally, and you set attainable goals, you can accomplish great things. Without that support, everything becomes far more difficult. So I always make sure to build a strong network I can lean on during the tough days, so I'm ready to perform at my best on the days I excel. And above all, never stop learning.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's okay to reinvent yourself at any age. It's okay to want something different for your life.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Right now, my biggest challenge and opportunity is that I'm starting over in a brand-new career. I'm learning the entire process from the ground up — building my training, understanding the business, and now working on growing my client base in insurance.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Empathy and trust are the values I hold most important, both in my work and in my personal life.
