Her Interview
Ten minutes with Beverly
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to not limiting my imagination. I always let myself think outside the box when it comes to my imagination. I allow myself to have those free-flowing thoughts and ideas when I write. It's about staying open to creativity and not putting boundaries on what's possible in my mind.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
While no specific advice was cited, Beverly's outlook reflects the belief that success comes from staying authentic, remaining committed to your vision, and continuing to pursue opportunities even when progress feels slow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be in tune with yourself, so you can come across with your best ideas and most authentic writing. Be in tune with yourself - what makes you happy, and what is your passion. You've gotta know what you're feeling inside to portray it outward. That's how you create work that truly resonates.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge I'm facing right now is finding a promoter. I'm in the midst of trying to find somebody to promote my children's book and to also promote my album, so I can get a sales boost. On the opportunities side, I would say social media platforms are huge. The internet and all kinds of platforms on social media give you the ability to advertise and put yourself out there. Social media platforms are really the opportunities for independent creators like me.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In my work life, I'm very goal-oriented and focused on meeting my goals at my workplace. In my personal life, I'm dream-oriented. I'm always trying to fulfill my dreams through my personal pursuits. It's about staying committed to what I want to achieve professionally while never losing sight of the bigger dreams that drive me creatively.
