Her Story

About Beverly

Beverly Squire brings more than 40 years of expertise in supply chain logistics to her role in sales at XPO. Originally from the Midwest, she launched her career at Roadway Express after college by joining their management training program, where she became the first woman in management working in Line Hall dispatch. She advanced to supervising warehouse operations on the dock and later served as a line hall coordinator overseeing more than 100 drivers along with dispatchers and yard staff. After relocating to California, she gained additional experience in sales in Chicago before transitioning to roles including service center manager at UPS Freight. She now focuses on sales at XPO while maintaining a commitment to mentoring young people entering the industry and supporting a nonprofit that helps students attend college. Squire attributes her success to the values instilled by her parents, including hard work, integrity, dedication, and daily prayer.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Beverly

01What do you attribute your success to?

My parents. My mom always said work hard if that's how you're gonna achieve everything. My dad said work hard but have fun. Be straight with people. Pray every day.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be strong. You're going to run into obstacles. Do not let any obstacles stop you because you can be successful as long as you don't let anybody else persuade you that you're not going to be successful. Get your master's and Ph.D. or whatever field she's going in.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Capacity and the challenges of the economy. The fuel surcharge is affecting everybody because the diesel prices are probably double what they used to be last year.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity. Dedication to do a good job every day.
