Her Interview
Ten minutes with Bhuvi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mentors and the teachers who guided me along the way. Without them, I would not be where I am here today. With every recommendation letter and every piece of advice, they've really paved the way for me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I received was from an elderly patient when I started volunteering at age 13: live your life to no regret. That's something I try and do every single day, helping the next person I can and seeking every opportunity.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never say no to an opportunity. I've done so many different things that aren't even related to my career field, like representing Pennsylvania as a pageant girl, which opened doors for commercials, and leading over a thousand kids in FBLA. You never know what doors that can open.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is that people see my appearance first because I'm a girl with different color skin and think I get opportunities as the token Indian, rather than seeing the work and impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The people I surround myself with. If you show me your friends, I'll show you your future. I surround myself with top of the line people who are the first to achieve everything and are good people.
