Bianca Baptiste MBA MS CLC
I transitioned into retail banking back in 2010 after working in retail stores. When I was in college at that time, I was thinking about what I wanted to do and what I was passionate about - it was more so helping people. Along that journey of helping people and transitioning from one institution to the next, I worked my way up. I started from the bottom and never forgot about my passion, which is really the people piece of it. This is actually my sixth role with my current employer over 13 years. In my current role as Academy Manager, which I've held for 5 months, I do a lot of facilitation for new hires and help them with their transition over to our institution. I also work with our senior leaders and ensure that all associates within the region are proficient in their role. My leadership style is transformational - it's about helping individuals find their purpose, meeting them where they are first and foremost, and then helping them work towards their goals. I like to say I help people turn their pain into purpose. This past November, I became a certified life coach, something I'd been trying to do for a long time but life just happens. At some point, I want to transition into life coaching full-time, even if that's 20 years from now. I'm also currently a doctoral student, and next month I should be transitioning from student to candidate to work on my research. My biggest accomplishment has been making the decision to get into a doctoral program - I didn't think that was something I would ever do.
