Ten minutes with Bianca
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Go after every opportunity. Sometimes you may feel like, oh, I don't have the experience, or oh, I don't know if that is going to be for me, but I think if it's really for you, it'll work out. For example, this field that I'm in now is completely different from training. And when I applied for this job, I wasn't really sure if I had all the necessary skills, but I was, and I'm so glad that I took the risk because this now has been my favorite position.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Go for it. Like, I feel like when you are answering to go into it with an open mind and you find the skills that you know that you're really good at. Like, I know I'm really good at presenting. I know I'm really good at making people feel warm and welcoming. I know that I'm really good at bringing attention to issues and problem solving. So I just would tell them, take whatever top skills that they feel like they're good at and capitalize on them.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I can't really think of a lot of challenges. I think there's a lot of opportunities for growth. I think there's a lot of opportunities for communication. Communication can be a challenge sometimes. Because, you know, everything doesn't come across well over email. And sometimes you got to pick what method of communication works best. But I think in my role, I think there's just a lot of room for development.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I just like to be dedicated. I like moving with integrity. I like being a leader, like, I like being responsible for change. Yeah, integrity is number one, though. No matter what I'm doing, I want to make sure that I'm always doing things with integrity.
