Her Story

About Bianca

Bianca Chiarolanza serves as Regional Account Manager at Evonik, based in Naples, Florida. She graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia in 2016 with a double major in chemistry and biochemistry. After beginning her career in a lab at a contract manufacturer, she transitioned into sales, where she has spent six years building her expertise in personal care chemical products, particularly those involving skin microbiome ingredients. Her role has grown significantly, moving from nurturing smaller accounts to managing some of the company's largest ones, and she is now preparing to oversee distributors throughout North America. Bianca attributes her professional drive to the example set by her hardworking parents, especially her mother, who ran a successful wedding photography business for about 45 years while raising four children. She values building close, straightforward relationships with clients and emphasizes connecting with people as key to success in sales. Among the advice she shares is the importance of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable and persisting through rejection.

Ten minutes with Bianca

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute a lot of my success to the example my parents set for me growing up. They were incredibly hardworking and always encouraged me to believe that if I put my mind to something, I could accomplish it. My mom, in particular, was a huge inspiration. She built and ran her own wedding photography business for more than 45 years while raising four children, and somehow she always showed up for everything. Watching her taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and being fully present for the things that matter most.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is that your reputation is built in the little things. Show up, follow through on what you say you’re going to do, and treat people well along the way. Talent and experience are important, but I’ve learned that being someone people trust and can depend on is just as valuable. Relationships matter, and the way you work with people stays with them long after a project or meeting is over.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don’t be afraid of hearing “no.” Rejection is part of growth, and sometimes the opportunities that don’t work out are the ones that push you toward something better. Be persistent, ask questions, and never be afraid to advocate for yourself. Most importantly, don’t underestimate what you bring to the table just because you’re young or still learning.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The personal care industry is constantly evolving, which can be both a challenge and an opportunity. Trends move quickly, consumer expectations change, and there is always something new being introduced. You really have to stay curious and continue learning. I also think that’s what makes the industry so exciting—there is always an opportunity to innovate, solve a new problem, or help bring something completely new to market.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity and connection are incredibly important to me, both professionally and personally. I believe in being straightforward, genuine, and someone people can rely on. In my career, I’ve found that the strongest relationships with clients come from taking the time to really know them and building trust beyond just making a sale. In my personal life, I value those same things—being present, showing up for the people I love, and prioritizing my family. At the end of the day, success means very little to me if I’m not also being a good wife, mom, friend, and person.
