Her Interview
Ten minutes with Bianca
01What do you attribute your success to?
What drives me is my ability to help others thrive, whether it's the associates that work for me, the clients I'm taking care of, or the community around us that we're engaging with and supporting. The woman I aspire to be is someone who leaves people better than she found them, someone who is the first person to throw another's name into a room full of opportunity.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
An old leader of mine once told me, "Through all things, be decisive." To me, this has always meant to not succumb to panic, instead working to think and prioritize clearly-especially if there's 50 fires to put out and you're only one gal. Whether it's figuring out how to execute a client's complex request, or figuring out your path in life, through all things- be decisive.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Growing up, I always found a special kinship with the quote from Vincent Van Gogh: "If I am worth anything later, I am worth something now. For wheat is wheat, even if people think it is a grass in the beginning." This quote lived on my lock screen as a teen, then hung next to my bathroom mirror as an adult, and now as an event manager it hangs on the wall of my office. As we start out in our careers, it can be easy to believe yourself undeserving of success or to succumb to doubt in your abilities. But if you are worth anything later, you are worth something now.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My most close-held values are ethics, accountability, and compassion. If you hold yourself accountable for your mistakes, take criticism gracefully, let integrity and regard for others (but not least of all yourself) lead you, you will find beautiful connections around every corner.
