Her Story

About Bianca

Bianca Zacharias is the Director of Sales at Hill Inn. Having grown up in the hospitality industry, she began her career in restaurants and catering before moving into hotels five years ago. She joined a small boutique hotel as a sales manager for events and small groups and was promoted to director of sales within three months. She recently achieved her goal of joining a major brand, taking her current role at Hilton. Bianca studied business administration in college but did not complete her degree after the shift to online classes during COVID. She is in the process of joining the WIN Foundation, a local Women in Networking group through the chamber. Bianca attributes her success to her father's advice to outwork everyone else and her ability to identify where things are lacking and fix issues. She values family above all, work-life balance, authenticity, and accountability. She advises young professionals entering hospitality to start from the bottom without discouragement, avoid drama and negativity, and focus on their work.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Bianca

01What do you attribute your success to?

Hard times made me stronger. I've been through more than most people, and it pushed me to go harder in life. Trauma maybe, like avoiding all my problems and just working more.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My dad taught me to just try to outwork everybody else. Nobody cares, work harder. I have the gift of realizing where things are lacking and pour myself into fixing issues.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Unfortunately we all have to start from the bottom so don't get discouraged. Avoid the drama, put your head down, smile, and just do what you do. Avoid any negativity. Riddling your life of negativity will catapult your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: off-seasons in hospitality, have to get creative. Opportunities: meeting people from all over the world, networking opportunities, building relationships and personal friendships.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Family is always number one. Work-life balance is important. Authenticity for sure. Accountability - admit when you messed up, that goes a long way.
