Bibi Khan serves as Control and Sanctions Manager at Nozomi Networks, where she has worked for about two years. She manages the department for all components of trade compliance, with a focus on export compliance and sanctions. Khan is a U.S. Customs Broker and a U.S. Certified Export Compliance Officer. Her career spans 15 years across multiple sectors including logistics, and she previously held roles as Trade Compliance Manager with Kohler Energy and in Global Trade Management with Becton Dickinson. Khan earned her first degree in economics and has a heavy finance background, which she credits for her passion for international trade and her ability to navigate tariffs and customs effectively. She has worked in diverse industries from mining to packaging, food, and medical. Among her proudest achievements is leading a recent CTPAT validation that resulted in no recommendations or action items, with customs suggesting her processes as a best practice for the industry. Khan is currently focused on expanding her sanctions knowledge, training teams, building compliance programs, and advancing global integration of processes across regions.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Understand what you are doing first before trying to explain it to someone else. Know your stuff well, understand the business, know where to walk away from companies that do not value your input, and do not tolerate rooms where knowledge and performance are not respected over gender or age.
