Billie is an Operations Training Supervisor specializing in training and development, with a strong focus on building effective learning strategies that drive performance and organizational growth. Currently with Westrock Coffee Company, she partners closely with cross-functional teams to identify skill gaps, enhance operational efficiency, and design practical, hands-on training solutions that empower employees at every level. Known for her engaging approach and commitment to real-world application, Billie emphasizes learning on the floor—ensuring training is relevant, actionable, and directly aligned with day-to-day operations.
Throughout her career, Billie has led and supported training initiatives across multiple industries, including manufacturing and business process services. She has held key roles at organizations such as IPEX by Aliaxis, Ontex, and Global Strategic Business Process Solutions, where she played a pivotal role in developing scalable training programs, improving onboarding processes, and implementing learning management systems. Notably, she contributed to the launch of “Global University,” a centralized platform that streamlined training across international teams. Her expertise spans e-learning, instructional design, public speaking, and team leadership, all grounded in a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
In addition to her professional experience, Billie is currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration, Management, and Operations at Guilford Technical Community College. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my ability to adapt to any situation. With my current job, I've been here not even 6 months yet, and I'm already being promoted. I think just being able to come in and recognize what's needed right away has been key to my success.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to go for it. Me working in corporate America and not having the educational background that some of my coworkers had kind of made me insecure, but hearing other women around me say, you know, you have nothing to lose, you're smart, go for it - it pushed me to go for jobs that I probably shouldn't be in, but that I have received.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice that I would give them is never be intimidated. I work in a majority male atmosphere, and you have to walk in like a lion. So never be intimidated in any room that you stand in.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in manufacturing is that it's all about production, and so it's a constant move. You only get so many chances to make sure that you're flowing correctly in that movement. And if you don't, then you get swept away. So you always have to be moving and on top of everything.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Work-life balance is very important to me. I love what I do, I love my work, I have a passion for what I do, but I also know that outside of this job I have my family, and that is very important to me also. So I think that whole work-life balance is top notch to me.
