About Bindiya
Bindiya Agarwal is a licensed architect serving as Technical Director for Construction with a focus on wood construction in architecture. She earned her bachelor's degree from India and graduated from an international school outside the US before starting her career in the United States in 2006. Beginning as an intern with no prior knowledge of wood construction, she progressed over more than 20 years through self-directed learning, site visits, and observation to her current role, where she leads a team of approximately 20 project managers, job captains, and PAs. Agarwal holds MS certifications and has received scholarships. She is affiliated with NVBIA, the national building association in the DC metropolitan area, and provides volunteer services for the Great American Living Awards. Her approach emphasizes listening first to client requirements, needs, and concerns before making judgments. In her free time, she enjoys gardening as a stress reliever.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most important thing is to listen to the client's requirements, their needs, and any of their concerns first, rather than giving suggestions. Hear them out, and then based on that make a judgment, which may not come instantaneously.
