Ten minutes with Bindya

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of ownership, persistence, and the ability to bring people together around difficult problems. I’m comfortable operating in ambiguity, asking the hard questions, and staying focused on the outcome rather than getting attached to a particular solution. I’ve also been fortunate to work with very strong teams, and I believe a big part of leadership is creating the environment where talented people can do their best work. Most importantly, I’ve continued to learn, adapt, and raise the bar for myself with every challenge.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is: don’t wait until you’re ready to take on the next challenge.

The biggest opportunities rarely come with a clear playbook. Step into the ambiguity, surround yourself with great people, ask the hard questions, and learn along the way. You don’t need to have every answer yourself, you need to have the courage to take ownership, bring the right people together, and keep moving the problem forward.

That advice has shaped how I’ve approached my career and, ultimately, how I think about leadership.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry would be: don’t wait for permission to take up space.

Be curious, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to speak up even when you’re not the most senior person in the room. You don’t have to know everything to have a valuable perspective.

Take on the hard problems. Seek out assignments that stretch you, build deep technical credibility, and learn how the business works—not just your own function. Your technical expertise will open doors, but your ability to influence, collaborate, and lead through ambiguity will determine how far you can go.

Most importantly, don’t feel like you need to change who you are to succeed. Be authentic, build relationships, find people who will advocate for you, and pay it forward by creating opportunities for other women along the way.

And remember: you don’t have to be fearless. You just have to be willing to step forward even when you’re not completely sure you’re ready.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

For me, the biggest leadership opportunity is building organizations that can move at that pace without sacrificing rigor. How do we become faster and more innovative while remaining disciplined enough to build products that customers can trust? I think that is one of the defining challenges for our industry over the next several years.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, ownership, excellence, and compassion are the values that guide me. I believe in doing the right thing, taking accountability, continuously raising the bar, and bringing people along with me. Personally, family, kindness, and being present for the people I care about matter just as much. Ultimately, success is about both what we accomplish and how we impact the people around us.
