Her Interview

Ten minutes with Binita D.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong foundation of support and meaningful relationships. My parents have consistently encouraged and motivated me, and I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by a dedicated group of colleagues and friends who have supported me throughout my journey. The proverb, “Where there is a will, there is a way,” has continually inspired me — both in what I’ve achieved so far and in what lies ahead.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to pursue one’s true aspirations. There’s never a perfect time, so it’s important to overcome fear, take the leap, and commit to becoming who you aspire to be.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to go after what you want to do without waiting for the “right” time. Such a moment seldom exists; instead, it is important to act with confidence, trust in one’s abilities, and embrace new challenges. Above all, strive to live without the regret of not having tried.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field right now is remaining competitive in an increasingly crowded market. Many small architectural firms have emerged, and while opportunities are abundant, the landscape is highly competitive. At the same time, the greatest opportunity lies in building connections with the right clients—there is no shortage of work, but earning trust and clearly demonstrating your value are essential to securing it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, understanding, and collaboration. I believe in approaching every situation with integrity and empathy, recognizing that everyone brings different perspectives and experiences. Especially in a high-pressure industry, I value working together to find thoughtful, solutions-oriented outcomes rather than adding stress — because strong collaboration leads to better results and stronger relationships.
