Her Interview

Ten minutes with Bobbi

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, dedication, and the ability to truly listen. I believe in honoring the families who trust me by understanding their experiences, needs, and goals, ensuring that my work is not driven by my own agenda but by what will create the greatest positive impact for the individuals and families I serve. Building meaningful relationships, staying committed through challenges, and remaining focused on making a difference have been the foundations of my professional journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to be authentic and embrace who I truly am. I have learned that success comes from bringing my unique perspective, strengths, and experiences to every opportunity, even when they differ from those around me. It is the same advice I would share with others: being exactly who you are is your greatest strength, and authenticity allows you to make a meaningful impact while staying true to yourself.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to embrace perseverance, build confidence, and recognize their own worth. Believe that your ideas, skills, and contributions matter. When I started my nonprofit, I had to navigate unfamiliar challenges, learn how to build an organization, and develop skills such as grant writing without a roadmap or extensive support. Through that experience, I learned the importance of trusting yourself, staying determined, and believing that you have the ability to create meaningful change.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is improving access to services and support for families. While therapists and behavior analysts play a critical role in providing care, I have chosen to focus on developing programs, advocating for families, and creating stronger support systems that help ensure individuals receive the resources they need. By addressing barriers to access and building more inclusive, family-centered solutions, we have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the communities we serve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are expertise, kindness, compassion, and empathy. I believe that strong systems and evidence-based practices are essential, but they must always be paired with genuine care, active listening, and respect for each individual’s unique story. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that every person is someone’s child, parent, sibling, or friend, and they deserve to be treated with dignity, understanding, and compassion.
