Her mission is rooted in the belief that financial literacy should be accessible to everyone and that no family should be left behind when it comes to understanding money and protecting their future.
Before transitioning into financial education and insurance services, Bobbie built an extensive background in healthcare administration and medical insurance while serving as an Admissions Coordinator for UT Health East Texas Inpatient Rehab Hospital. It was there that she developed strong expertise in admissions coordination, insurance verification, patient support, data analysis, and healthcare administration. She also gained valuable experience through her work with Mercy Ships, where she served in onboarding and staffing coordination roles, helping volunteers navigate documentation, travel logistics, and preparation for service assignments around the world. Her diverse professional experience has strengthened her ability to connect with people compassionately while providing clear, solutions-focused support during important life decisions.
What inspired Bobbie to pursue this path was both personal necessity and a desire for meaningful growth. Seeking a career where she could continue learning while making a genuine impact, she found purpose in helping others navigate complex insurance and financial questions. Many people reach out to her directly for guidance, trusting her years of healthcare experience and her commitment to helping without charging for assistance. Whether helping families find cancer coverage, insurance for children, or financial education resources, Bobbie is passionate about serving others with integrity, compassion, and encouragement. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to family. They are the backbone of me. My most notable professional achievement so far is bringing up my daughter, who is now 27 and has entered the workforce. She started with her own money in the bank, and I've been able to help navigate her through learning how to navigate finances and interest and payments. I've been able to help her through school and through college and really help her elevate herself into a productive person, to where her boss is extremely happy with her. That's been my biggest achievement.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to never, ever be afraid to ask a question. There is never a stupid question. This advice has been fundamental to my approach in both my work and personal development.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would ask them to not be afraid to step into the role. Have the courage to ask the questions and stand up and believe in what you're doing. Don't be afraid of the adventure. It's important to be coachable and have courage as you move forward in your career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field right now is getting more of the word out to people that the services I provide with How Money Works, all that education is free. People don't realize that I don't charge to help them find insurance for themselves. I've been able to help people, basically off of Facebook, because they know that I've worked with the hospital for so long. They reach out asking, 'Can you help me find insurance for cancer? Can you help me find insurance for my daughter?' Just different things, and I've been able to help, so that's been a great blessing. The challenge is really about raising awareness that these services are available at no cost.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work and personal life are personal development, leadership, being coachable, having courage, and not being afraid of the adventure. I believe strongly in never being afraid to ask questions, as there is never a stupid question. These values guide how I approach both my professional responsibilities and my personal growth.
