Bobbie Downs is an accomplished education leader with over fifteen years of experience fostering inclusive and effective learning environments. She currently serves as Executive Director at NJASCD and Assistant Superintendent at Burlington County Special Services School District, where she leads teams dedicated to supporting diverse learners while ensuring compliance with special education law and NJDOE standards. Her leadership approach emphasizes both innovation and equity, with a focus on empowering educators to meet the needs of every student.
Throughout her career, Bobbie has developed deep expertise in professional development, lesson planning, and special education. She holds certifications in mindfulness education and trauma-informed practices, reflecting her commitment to advancing the well-being of both students and staff. From her early work as a teacher to her leadership roles in district administration, she has consistently prioritized creating environments where educators and students can thrive.
Beyond her professional roles, Bobbie is a dedicated community leader and advocate. She serves as Local President of her Rotary Club and as a Sexual Violence Advocate with CONTACT of Burlington County, demonstrating her commitment to service and social impact. The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are a love of teaching and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. My journey from classroom teacher to Assistant Superintendent has allowed me to support educators and students on a larger scale, and I take pride in the positive difference I’ve been able to make in my school district.
