Her Interview
Ten minutes with Boni
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to always striving to come up with innovative ideas that produce results. Throughout my career, I have consistently challenged myself to keep growing both personally and professionally. I am passionate about making a meaningful difference through my work, and I believe that commitment has been instrumental in my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to stay honest and open. Business relationships depend on trust. And you can only have trust--whether it's with co-workers or clients--if you're honest. I also think it's critical to keep things in perspective and never lose your sense of humor. These principles have helped shape both my career and my approach to leadership.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay informed and communicate simply and with clarity. Trust what you know, but be open to new ideas and perspectives. And kindness goes a long way in the work environment. But most of all, don't let anyone or anything hold you back from becoming the best possible version of yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the biggest challenge and opportunity right now is how AI is increasingly integrated into our world. As a writer, I love it for its research capability. But as someone who loves the writing process, I don't think it delivers genuine, original thinking. Everything AI writes is derivative of something else. It's a great plagiarizer. And I worry that it inhibits creativity and critical thinking in young people. I'm curious to see how this all shakes out.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value kindness, respect, professionalism, and leading by example. And I always try to treat others with honesty and compassion. Life is tough enough.
So it's important that you don't add to the chaos.
