A registered nurse and healthcare executive, health and wellness coach, speed reading expert, mindful movement specialist, and multidisciplinary leader with over 25 years of experience across nursing administration, health coaching, speed reading instruction, peer recovery support, Pilates and golf mobility training, talent acquisition, cybersecurity risk management, retail management, event production, and nonprofit leadership. Currently serves as President of Advanced Reading Concepts Speed Reading Plus, conducting speed reading courses for the public nationwide and in-house seminars for corporations and conferences, a role held since 1977. Also serves as Professional Presenter and Workshop Leader, providing speed reading seminars for corporations, government, military, and associations nationwide. Previously served as Director of Education at American Speedreading Academy, helping franchise directors open four branches, hiring and training teachers, writing lesson plans, and teaching classes. Currently serves as Health Coach at Cardiovascular Associates of America and Administrator and CEO at Beacon Behavioral Hospital. Also serves as Certified Peer Supervisor and Doula at Haymarket Center, Founder of Conscious Strong and SwingAxis, Head of Talent Acquisition at Yale University, Director of Alumni and Donor Programs at Midlands Technical College, Senior Risk Management Specialist at Carnival Corporation, and Store Manager at Jordan's Furniture. Former Senior Airman in the United States Air Force. Holds a BS in Education from The Ohio State University (1963-1967), where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Angel Flight, and received the Career Achievement Award from Ohio State's College of Education and Human Ecology in 2008. Also completed postgraduate work in reading and accelerated reading workshops. Additionally holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from High Point University, as well as a BSN, BA, MA, MBA, and multiple AWS certifications.
