Her Story
About Bonnie
Bonnie Kwan is a dedicated nurse practitioner based in Las Vegas, Nevada, with six years of experience in dermatology and a career rooted in a deep commitment to patient care. Her journey into medicine was profoundly shaped by a personal experience — watching her mother receive exceptional care at UCLA Medical Center during treatment for a pituitary brain tumor. That pivotal moment ignited her desire to provide the same level of compassionate, high-quality care to every patient she encounters. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of San Diego, completed her nursing training, and later obtained her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles. Before transitioning into dermatology, Bonnie spent eight years in the operating room, building a strong clinical foundation that continues to inform her practice today.
Bonnie currently practices within a large dermatology group in Las Vegas while also operating her own aesthetics studio, Blush Aesthetics, where she offers a wide range of cosmetic treatments. Her expertise spans both medical and cosmetic dermatology, including the diagnosis and management of skin cancers, vitiligo, acne, and rashes, as well as aesthetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, microneedling, laser treatments, regenerative medicine, and under-eye rejuvenation. She approaches every patient with a philosophy centered on building genuine relationships, listening closely to their concerns, and collaborating with them to achieve healthier, more confident skin. Bonnie also stays current in her field through active participation in the NPPA Journal Club in Las Vegas and was honored as a featured inductee in the Influential Women 2026 class.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bonnie is driven by a set of core values — authenticity, honesty, and kindness — that guide both her clinical work and her personal life. She is passionate about giving back to her community through wellness initiatives and believes wholeheartedly that consistency, focus, and passion are the keys to long-term success. Outside of work, she finds joy in traveling, exploring new restaurants and cuisines across the Las Vegas Valley, hiking, crafting, and spending quality time with her family. A devoted mother, Bonnie credits the support of her loved ones and her desire to set a meaningful example for her son as the driving forces behind everything she has built.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Bonnie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my friends and family. My son has also been one of my greatest motivators — he inspired me to push forward and build something meaningful when I launched my aesthetics studio.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've ever received is simple but powerful: if you are passionate about something, go for it and don't give up. That mindset has guided every step of my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this field is to be consistent and stay focused. The path may not always be easy, but persistence and dedication will get you where you want to go.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The aesthetics industry is growing rapidly, which brings both opportunity and intense competition. There are medspas on nearly every corner, and larger companies competing aggressively on price make it challenging for independent practitioners. Additionally, limited regulation in the space leads to variable quality, which affects the industry as a whole. On the dermatology side, Las Vegas is a relatively small niche, but once you are established, it is an incredibly rewarding space to work in.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values I hold closest are authenticity, honesty, and kindness — being true to myself and to the people around me. These principles guide how I care for my patients and how I show up in every aspect of my life.
