Her Story

About Bonnie

Bonnie began her career straight out of high school as a secretary for a broker in New York City. Encouraged by her mentor, she obtained her real estate license in 1997 and transitioned into leasing, starting with multi-million dollar sales and later joining JP Morgan as a sole leasing agent for one of the largest high-rise buildings in New York State. She has since worked with major management companies including Rose Associates and Bizzuto Management, returning to each in a boomerang pattern over the years. Today, Bonnie serves as managing manager for two large buildings where she handles leasing, property management, maintenance coordination with vendors, and relations with hundreds of residents. She credits her long-term success to the advice of her mentor to always be honest, loyal, and genuine without pressuring clients or sounding like a car salesman. Bonnie advises young women entering the industry to go for it, fake it until they make it, believe in themselves, break out of their shell, have fun, and walk with confidence.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being honest and loyal, never pressuring people or sounding like a car salesman. My mentor taught me to be myself and people will stick with you if you're genuine. I've always been loyal to the companies I've worked for over the years.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received was from my mentor who told me never to pressure people, be yourself, be honest and loyal, and never sound like a car salesman because people will stick with you.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just go for it, fake it till you make it, and believe in yourself. You have to break out of your shell, have fun with it, and walk with confidence. If you own it, you'll be able to accomplish anything.
