About Brandi
Brandi Stone is a higher education professional specializing in student affairs. With 12 years of experience, she focuses on developing systems that support students and help them thrive. She earned her doctorate in Higher Ed Administration and Leadership in 2020. Brandi was recently promoted to the role of Executive Director of Student Support. She maintains active membership in professional organizations including NASPA, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and ACPA, the American College Personnel Association. Brandi attributes her success to a strong support system and advises approaching challenges with curiosity and intentional risk-taking.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to just having a really strong support system.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't be afraid to try hard things.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to approach things with curiosity and intentional risk-taking.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is being able to describe the impact of your work from both qualitative and quantitative narratives. Opportunities include being imaginative to think about what the next wave of student support looks like in an era of increased AI and digital communications, and getting creative about how we usher in a wave of higher education beyond a brick-and-mortar system.
