							Brandy S. Bowman, Ed.D., MSW, is a dedicated healthcare workforce leader with a focus on strengthening the healthcare system across Western North Carolina. As the WNC Workforce Development Manager at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC), she leads regional strategies to align healthcare supply and demand, expand training pipelines, and address access barriers and structural gaps. Her work emphasizes cross-sector collaboration, ensuring communities throughout 16 counties have the skilled professionals they need to thrive.
Brandy’s career reflects a strong commitment to community engagement and development. She previously served as a Community Engagement Project Manager at the University of North Carolina Asheville and has experience in government as Director of the Governor’s Western Office and as a Constituent Representative for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. Additionally, she is an experienced entrepreneur, having owned and operated Collected Decor for seven years, demonstrating her ability to bridge professional expertise with small business development.
With advanced degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MSW) and Western Carolina University (Ed.D.), Brandy combines academic rigor with practical leadership experience. Her work highlights the importance of innovation, workforce development, and community partnership in creating sustainable, equitable healthcare systems, making her a driving force for positive change in her region.
