About Brandy
Brandy is a human resources leader, talent development professional, and motivational advocate whose career has been defined by a passion for helping people grow. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Brandy has spent more than 15 years building expertise in employee development, leadership coaching, workforce planning, and organizational culture. Her professional journey began at age 17 as a manager at Blockbuster Video. It continued through an 11-year tenure with Comcast, where she traveled extensively as a customer service trainer, developing and delivering programs that enhanced employee performance and engagement. Those experiences ignited her passion for developing others and ultimately led her into leadership, operations management, and human resources roles with organizations including Enova Financial, World's Finest Chocolate, Nestlé Purina, Illinois Tool Works, Trinity United Church of Christ, and Pactiv Evergreen. Throughout her career, Brandy has become known for her ability to blend strategic HR expertise with genuine compassion for people. She believes that human resources extends far beyond policies and procedures, serving as a critical bridge between organizational success and employee well-being. Whether leading talent acquisition efforts, conducting employee relations investigations, implementing leadership development initiatives, or guiding workforce planning strategies, she is committed to creating workplaces where individuals feel respected, supported, and empowered to perform at their best. A strong advocate for psychological safety, Brandy encourages leaders to foster cultures built on trust, transparency, accountability, and open communication, recognizing that employees thrive when they feel safe to contribute their ideas and perspectives. Brandy's commitment to growth and service extends beyond the workplace. After years of developing her expertise through hands-on experience, she earned her Associate of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Rasmussen University and obtained certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and behavioral assessment credentials. She is also the creator and host of the podcast *Still Her Daughter*, which was inspired by her own experience of losing her mother at a young age and serves as a source of encouragement for others navigating similar loss. Guided by faith, integrity, authenticity, and compassion, Brandy is dedicated to helping individuals discover their potential while empowering organizations to build stronger cultures. She believes that true success is measured not only by professional accomplishments but by the positive impact made in the lives of others.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always remain true to who you are. You're gonna step into many rooms with many different people, personalities, work styles, leadership styles. But always remain true to who you are. So whatever your foundation is, never sacrifice that for the work.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stay learning, humble, and flexible...learn to pivot when necessary.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is fostering psychological safety while ensuring leadership accountability, as both are essential to building trust, engagement, and high-performing workplace cultures.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are trust, honesty, stability, and faith, as they form the foundation of strong relationships, effective leadership, and meaningful growth.
