Her Story
About Brandy
Brandy Sanders serves as Executive Director of Nu Skool Sings Old School, a nonprofit organization she founded in 2011. Drawing on more than 30 years in the entertainment industry, including her experience as a Soul Train dancer, she created the foundation to give children, especially inner-city youth raised by grandparents, a platform to perform old school music from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and some 1980s. The program includes singers, dancers, musicians, and models added in recent years, and requires participants to maintain good grades and behavior at home. Sanders incorporates music education, teaching children the history behind songs, and organizes community service activities such as feeding the homeless, delivering hygiene kits to nursing homes, and distributing back-to-school supplies. She has brought in legends like Barry Gordy and maintains strict standards for performances and costumes while fostering heart-centered, giving children.
