What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my genuine passion for the work I do. That passion drives my commitment, fuels my growth, and inspires me to bring my best every day.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
A mentor once told me: always make sure you can finish what you start. Be selective when others ask you to carry out their questionable deeds in the name of leadership. At the end of the day, your signature and your reputation will bear the consequences.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage aspiring HR coaches to build partnerships early and tap into the combined expertise of others. It helps you sharpen your skillset without trying to be everything to everyone and it makes the process more enjoyable.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
During these times of constant changes the federal government and non-profit agencies are experiencing limited funding which often restricts executive coaching in nonprofit and federal sectors. This leads to shorter, group-based, or grant-funded programs that can limit depth and continuity. Leaders must also navigate complex stakeholder environments, requiring them to balance the expectations of boards, donors, regulators, and communities. This creates competing priorities and pressure while operating with limited autonomy and funds. At the same time, the emotional demands of mission-driven work contribute to high levels of burnout and turnover among executives. We are all experiencing unprecedented times.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are collaboration, empowerment and service. I am committed to helping others understand how to achieve success and supporting them in reaching their full potential.
